America Online

America Online, the world's leading interactive services company, is committed to providing its members with easy-to-use tools and information to help them stay safe online. The AOL service includes award-winning parental controls, automatic e-mail antivirus screening, robust anti-spam protections, and, for its broadband members, a customized firewall - all at no additional charge. AOL 9.0, coming in late July, includes additional advanced safety features like enhanced parental controls and adaptive spam filters that learn what each user thinks is spam. AOL also recently launched a major educational and marketing campaign to inform high-speed users about the dangers of having an unprotected broadband connection. In addition, AOL works to educate its members about online safety through content areas and initiatives like Keyword: Safety and SafetyClicks.com as well as partnerships with organizations like GetNetWise, the National Cyber Security Alliance, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Polly Klaas Foundation, TRUSTe, and WiredKids.org.
