Music for a While, produced and hosted by Danielle Charbonneau, is an early evening program heard Monday through Friday on CBC Radio Two at 6:30 pm right after the World at Six (7pm in Newfoundland).

Music for a While is an hour and a half of classical music just perfect for whiling your way from day into evening. The program explores the vast and ever-growing world of chamber and orchestral music on disc and presents a wide variety of repertoire recorded by outstanding artists.

Whether you're getting supper ready or simply relaxing after a long day,

*First words of a song by Henry Purcell, part of the incidental music written for Oedipus, a play by John Dryden and Nathaniel Lee.

Opening and closing theme: "The Pied Piper" by Walter Mourant, performed by George MacDonald, clarinet (originally from Sydney, Nova Scotia) and the Northern Sinfonia of England, conducted by Steuart Bedford.
