good game This is the best football game out there. i got it for my birthday this year and have been playing it almost nonstop since. the graphics are the best that i have seen and the gameplay is simply fantastic. The player ratings are very realistic and the controls are easy to master. i would reccomend trying new playmaker control. it can let control the nearest blocker on a running play or guide the nearest receiver on a passing play. also you should give new owner mode a try. you get to set ticket prices customize a stadium and see how much money you are pulling in compared to other owners. i have never tried online play but i would seriously reccomend it because it sounds and looks really very fun. the gameplay is very realistic and you get to unlock cheats player cards and you can unlock alltime great teams with the madden card feature in your ea sports bio. the ea sports bio is cool if you have never tried to do it before. i would also reccomend that. try creating playbooks both offensive and defensive. it is really fun. You can do the two minute drill which lets you see how good you can do in two minutes it is very very fun. you can also just practice plays in the practice mode it really gets you prepared for games. you can do franchise mode which lets you do a training camp to make your players ratings get much better. then you just play out the full season. you can also create a player and you can also create a team. they are both very fun indeed. i think that this is an allaround great game to play if you are looking for an easy to play yet challenging and reallistic football game for the playstation 2 this game is definitely for you. i love every aspect of it. it is just the best video game ever made and my favorite sport is baseball. and i still think that this is the best video game ever made period i hope that if you buy it that you will like to play just as much as me if not even more than i like this fantastic football game. i would reccomend it to anyone who likes sports games that are not to easy and yet that are not way to hard to learn how to play. the computers skill level is just right even though one time i did beat it 102 to 24. it is a very very very very very fun game to play for a football game. oh yeah did i mention that it is sponsored by michael vick possibly the best young quarterback in the game right now. he is also probably the best rusher for a quarterback right now. he is my favorite player and i love him. the music is fantastic and i wish that there was a soundtrack for it. if there is and you have a rating for this game please mention where that i could find the soundtraack for it. i love this game more than the xbox only nfl fever2004 which i have played. madden is way better than its recent predecessors 2003 and 2002. i have played all of the ones from 2000 to the current one. they are all great but 2004 is several steps ahead of the other ones. i like this game more than the other three that i have the other three are mlb slugfest 20 04 a great game, allstar baseball 2004 another great game, and last but not least the only non sports game that i have for the playstation 2 is rayman 3 anothe great game for young players of many tastes. i just love everything about madden though and will love it forever. i cant wait until the next madden game comes out madden 2005 that will surely be a great game for all of the madden series fans such as me and my cousins and their friend. i love the series and will keep buying them until there is no such a thing as them anymore which i hope will never happen to mankind. that would surely be a very bad thing. all of you who are reading this should definitely put it on your christmas list.
Madden 2004 Overall, Madden is a pretty impressive game. Like all games, there are good and bad aspects, but it is hard to complain about Madden as a whole. I won't recommend one over the other b/t this and ESPN or NCAA, because it is all personal preference. I will just give the highs and lows and you can decide for yourself... Owner mode is fun for a few seasons, but eventually becomes an afterthought. The playmaker is a cool innovation and is nice if for no other reason than you can switch the direction of your running play without calling an audible. In a couple of years Playmaker will probably be really helpful after they tweak it a little. As for gameplay, which is hopefully the main factor in deciding which to buy. The game is very challenging on the two higher levels and that is good. It keeps you coming back to play. The graphics are solid, and the feel is authentic. Running the ball just takes persistence, and passing the ball takes patience. Yes, there are lots of interceptions, but it is usually b/c you throw a bad pass. There are some INT's that seem like set-ups (linebackers turn into to Lebron James and snatch them out of the air) but overall it is where and when you throw the ball. Before I tell you about the main issue I have with this game, let me say that even with this problem it is probably the most addictive game I have played and I am glad I bought it. The main problem is that sometimes it seems almost rigged. The computer sometimes just "decides" to score, and it can be very frustrating, such as when you are in a pass defense on third and long and the computer runs play action and scores with a wideopen WR. OR when they run a 85 yard play where your team looks like soldiers laying on a battle field. This happens the most frequently at the end of the half and fourth quarter. If you have the ball late in the 2nd or 4th don't give it back to them with more than 30 seconds or they will get at least a field goal no matter what D you run. However, all of this can be overcome if you play conservative and use the clock, which makes it pretty realistic. I suggest running and passes out in the flats with occasional play action and deep routes. All in all, this is an extremely fun and exciting game, and takes patience and practice just like anything else. Enjoy.
Great! Madden '04 is great! The franchise mode with the owner mode part is cool. Set your ticket price, food, etc. This is great for the people that really like the aspects of managing a real team. Even move it to Alaska! Bad part is that u could get a carrer ending injury to a player like Culpepper. It's optional though. You kinda get tired with Madden's repeated commentary. One problem is that Rookie is too easy, but the next level is hard. Play maker control is GREAT! YOu get points for achievements, which eventually lead up to cool cheats. Couple of lineup issues, but this game is great. Excellent graphics of stadiums,
