I don't stalk any particular species of fish...
if it swims, I will chase it! I set a goal this spring to catch 3 new
fish.. a Pike, a smallmouth and a king salmon. I managed to land all
three and a coho and a mirror carp as well. Besides those fish I also
target brown trout, largemouth bass, common carp, catfish and sunfish.
I fly fish for the brown trout, and that is how my fishing addiction
began.
This winter I plan on trying some steelhead fishing. There are places
close by me where the steelhead runs are quite popular.
95 percent of what I have learned about fishing, I learned from
reading books, magazines, internet websites and from joining message
boards and asking questions. Where there's a will, there's a way! I am
also a life member of the North American Fisherman's Club, and have
had much help from it's members.
My husband doesn't fish much, he can take it or leave it. Same with my
kids. They will go, but after an hour, they tend to be done.
For me, fishing is a great stress reliever. I can be content to fish
without one hook up. Now, of course, fishing with a hook up is much
better, but you just can't beat the serenity of fishing on a quiet
stream or pond. This is where the photography part of my kicks in!
Let me
share just a section of one of my favorite bible verses. From
Psalm 16....
Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge.
I said to the LORD , "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good
thing."
