| List Name | Help me resolve a burning SME issue! (Help required!) |
| Purpose: | Although I appreciate I am a stranger to you, I wonder if I might be so cheeky as to ask for your help! I am an MSc research student from Aston University in Birmingham. My project intends to uncover the affect acutely price focusing B2B internet auctions will have on the SMEs of developed nations (i.e. companies with high labour costs and low purchasing power). I strongly believe that if this new tehnology continues to grow in usage, as it currently is, it poses a very significant threat to this group. My reason for contacting you is quite simple. I'm seeking to find as many e-mail addresses of contacts within SMEs (who have at least some basic knowledge of e-commerce) as possible, obviously the more responses the more accurate my research. Can you help? I intend on e-mailing my questionnaire, which takes about 15 minutes to complete, with a simple request. In return, along with the questionnaire I have put together a review of the technolgy, its capabilities and the currently considered opportunities & threats. If people wish to read this thay can, admittedly I'm also hoping this will increase the response rate! Further, the questionnaire also has a tick box for if the person wishes to recieve a copy of my conclusions and recommendations. I already know for a fact that many large and middle sized companies are already beginning to use or are testing this technology. If, as is being suggested, it reduces direct purchasing costs, it is a reality SMEs will have to face. I believe I can genuinely help provide these companies with the relevant information, (I intend to get my work published as widely as I can) in appreciation of this I ask you might help me to do this.
