With a prize purse of over $100,000 and elite athletes from around the globe, the 39th Annual Las Vegas Marathon, held on Sunday, January 30, 2005 is sure to break all records. This year?s Las Vegas Marathon is expected to draw more than 10,000 runners, walkers and their friends from all 50 states, more than 20 countries are expected for the 17th oldest marathon worldwide.

Join us for a weekend of entertainment that will begin with a two day Fitness Expo at the fabulous Luxor Hotel & Casino, then continuing with a Friday night Pasta Party that will include a number of special guests, great food and many surprises. Race day highlights include Sunday's 26.2 mile Marathon, a Half Marathon, 5-person Marathon Relay and Saturday's International Friendship 5K Run. On race night celebrate your accomplishments at The Post Race Party & Concert, featuring great dancing to great music.

Adding to the excitement of Elite Runners from all over the world, top NASCAR drivers like Mike Waltrip are training to run the 26.2 mile Las Vegas Marathon course. They are reaching out to NASCAR fans across the country to raise more than $1,000,000 for the Victory Junction Gang, a non-profit organization/camp for terminally-ill children which was started by Richard and Kyle Petty in memory of Adam Petty.

The Las Vegas Marathon will be one of the major kick-off events to celebrate the 100th Centennial Anniversary of the City of Las Vegas.
