Summit County Biking

  • Frisco to Breckenridge: If looking for a comfortable paved road bike ride, then the Frisco to Breckenridge section of the Summit County Bike system is a great ride for you. This ride is a moderate grade but offers a variety of scenery to look at as you pass by.
  • Frisco to Keystone: This amazing paved bike trail takes you around Lake Dillon and follows the flow of the Snake River to Keystone Village.
  • Frisco to Vail Pass: If you are looking for a vertical gain of about 1500 feet and impeciable views, then a ride to the top of Vail Pass is a must do.
  • Lake Loop: A perfect ride for those who enjoy a loop instead of an up and back ride. With a variety of climbs and descents and views from Lake Dillon, this ride is sure to please.
  • Breckenridge to Hoosier Pass: Get ready for a memorable uphill. This 11-mile ride brings you to the top of Hoosier pass through Blue River and high alpine biking environment.
  • Copper Mountain to Leadville: Get ready for a climb up Freemont pass to the historic old mining town of Leadville. If looking to get away from everything, you will enjoy a quiet 25-mile ride around Turquoise Lake.
  • Keystone to Loveland Pass: Many extreme athletes will train on this mountain pass to increase lung capacity and red blood cell count. At 11,990 feet above sea level this is a challenging road bike ride.
  • Silverthorne to Ute Pass: An adventure and great road bike ride to see the Henderson Mine and destruction caused by the Pine Beatles on top of Ute Pass.
  • Bike to Montezuma: This trail can be accessed from anywhere in Summit County, but if looking for lesser mileage, start at the free parking lots at Keystone Village by the gondola.
  • Bike to Heeney: Why not bring a lunch and picnic around the lake or enjoy one of the dining spots in Heeney. This is a 35 mile ride on a moderate grade slope.
  • Colorado Trail: The Colorado Trail spans the entire state of Colorado, but the section passing through Breckenridge is perfect 26 mile loop on a mountain bike.
  • Wheeler Trail: This trail is only for expert mountain bikers who enjoy a long hill climb and technical single track decent.
  • Boreas Pass – Bakers Tank: The perfect mountain bike ride for the whole family.
  • Burro Trail: Right next to the Peak 9 chairlift is a relaxing singletrack ride through the woods from Breckenridge to Blue River.
  • Zinger Cycling Challenge: Extreme bike event from Boulder to Breckenridge over major mountain climbs.
  • Ride the Rockies: Annual bike event of over 2,000 participants for a 6 day tour of Colorado.
  • Team Evergreen Triple Bypass: A challenging one day event over three major mountain passes in Colorado with a 10,000 foot elevation gain.
  • The Courage Classic: A great benefit ride for the children's hospital and local charities.
  • Pedal the Peaks: The perfect challenge for personal achievement and accomplishment with ample support along the way.
  • Iron Horse Classic: The classic of all bike races, this event was started by one man trying to race the Durango/Silverton train.
  • The MS Bike Tour: The largest organized cycling event in America benefits a great cause.
  • Colorado’s Wine Country Bike Tour: Enjoy the relaxing rolling hills with a 25 mile day ride through the fruit orchards and vineyards.
  • Peru Creek: A great trail to discover the mining history and old relics of the area.
  • Frey Gulch: A great ride in the Keystone area away from crowds that can form near the ski area.
  • Webster Pass: Starting this ride in Montezuma at 10,000 feet is challenging for any rider.
  • Saints John Trail: Discover the old mining town of Saint John and the Wild Irishman Mine near the town of Montezuma.
