Whistler BC is Canada's premier ski resort. Rated among the
world's best ski mountains, Whistler was been selected to host the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Needless to say, skiing on Whistler Mountain and the adjacent Blackcomb
Mountain is fabulous! The ski season normally begins in mid
November and can end as late as June. Discount ski tickets can be
purchased at 7-11 convenience stores in Vancouver.
If you are not a skier or a snowboarder, a trip to Whistler Village is
still warranted. One can take the cable car ride to the top of
Whistler Mountain and do some hiking in the snow. Alternatively
there is a great golf course in the village and a network or paths and
trails for cycling.
There are also plenty of wonderful hotels and restaurants in the village.
The drive from Vancouver to Whistler is about 1.5 hours. There
are also tour buses available from the downtown area.
