Most people live their lives on automatic pilot, not paying much attention to what they do "moment to moment." They don't see the big picture, nor the minute changes occurring in the mind and body triggered by unhealthy lifestyle behaviors. Little attention is paid to the reasons why heart disease, diabetes, circulatory disease, asthma, or the many others developed. Little attention is paid to why the bowel is irritable, or why the body keeps breaking down in so many areas. Little attention is paid to why anxiety and/or panic disorder developed and staying in residence. In order to function at a higher mindbody level, it is vitally important to accept the concept that everything is connected, and while on the surface that may seem like "bad news", in reality it is "very good news indeed." The reason for this is that once a person takes full responsibility for the working of the total picture, the outcomes will change. That is not to say that all diseases will reverse, but once a person makes healthy lifestyle changes that include food intake, managing stress, emotions, and utilizing healing imagery, the path changes and therefore the outcomes change. It may be that chronic pain is reduced, and other mindbody functions may normalize, or at least head in that direction. In this course you will learn that the actual act of caring for your mind and body at very high levels will bring the opportunity to achieve many of your goals, even if you have not been successful in the past. It is best to review all lifestyle change programs with your physician before starting. You may be taking certain medications that will need monitoring as your blood sugars stabilize. If you are over-weight you will probably begin losing stored fat. If you are under-weight, your body will respond in healthy ways to your improved lifestyle changes. It is not uncommon for certain types of medications to need a dose adjustment. The physician may choose to actually eliminate certain medications as your body begins to respond to these changes. I suggest that all participants keep an ongoing journal while working on this program. The tools in this program will allow you to view your body messages on very subtle levels. This information can be very valuable for your physician, and the management of your health care. A simple notebook will suffice. I encourage participants to write a few pages daily, noticing changes not only in the body, but also in their mind state. There is a big connection between food and beverage intake and chronic diseases. Many individuals literally live in food stress, causing their body and mind to function at much lower levels than before. Much of this lower level functioning is then blamed on the actual chronic disease process, while in truth it is caused by the lifestyle behaviors of the individual. When the mind and body are under food stress, additional stress chemicals are produced as the body attempts to find balance. It is well known that chronic disease states are stress related. The medical literature suggests that 60-90% of disease states are related to stress in some way. Once again, this can be seen as good news. Translated correctly, this means that 60-90% is within your power to change. Very good news indeed! This program will present information that may appear very simplistic on the surface, and perhaps you may view it as far too simple in managing any perceived large problems. Make no mistake. The answers are often very simple indeed. Most of the answers are subtle, and this is the actual reason for the lack of success. True long term success lies in doing the same simple, subtle things over and over, and then over and over. This is where the tools of persistence and perseverance come into play. You will be developing these powerful assets as you work with these simple, subtle tools. You will also be working with the parts of you that do not want to practice self-discipline, but prefer to keep you in the chronic disease state, and living at your current level of health. Perhaps the most interesting, and certainly most powerful part of this program is coming face to face with this destructive inner force. The process of getting to know it, respecting it’s power, and learning to diminish it will change the way you currently live your life. This program contains many different tools and techniques designed to help the individual towards high level health and performance. These very same tools are used by sports professionals, individuals interested in accelerated learning, those in the creative arts, as well as those managing life threatening illnesses.
