Transport from the airport

<<  GO BACK TO BARCELONA HOTELS, APARTMENTS

Train

The airport is the terminus for Rodalies train line 1. Trains runs every 30 minutes from 6:10 am to 10:40 pm daily. It takes 16 minutes to Sants and 21 minutes to Catalunya. Departures from Sants to the airport are from 5:45 am to 10:15 pm; from Catalunya they are five minutes earlier. You get tickets either at the booth or from the automatic machines if you have coins.

Bus

The A1 Aerobus service runs from the airport to Plaça de Catalunya; Monday to Friday every 15 minutes, weekend and holidays every 30 minutes. The trip is about 40 minutes.

Taxi

A taxi to/from the centre, 30 minutes and it costs €15-20

Public Transport

Metro

It is the easiest way of getting around and reaches most places you are likely to visit (but not the airport). The metro is supplemented by a few train lines. Metro has five lines, and is efficient and easy to use. At interchange stations, you just need to work out which line and which direction you want. The metro runs from Monday to Thursday from 5:00 am to 24:00 pm; Friday, Saturday and the day before public holidays from 5:00 am to 2:00 am; Sunday from 6:00 am to 24:00 pm.

Bus and Bus Turistic

Buses run from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm. Many routes pass through Plaça de Catalunya and/or Plaça de la Universitat. After 11:00 pm night buses run until 3:00 to 5:00 am. Bus turistic service covers two circuits linking virtually all the major tourist sights.

Taxi

Taxis cost about €1,5 flagfall plus meter charges. A green light on the roof means the taxi is free.
