Fishing Tips

Take me fishing.

Number one tip!
Take a kid fishing.
The memories you make will last a lifetime!

Here is an example of the "Stoopid Rig"
Stoopid Rig
This lure caught 27 fish out of 28 strikes!

Here's what you need to catch your share:

  • #44 HitchHiker coils from Tru-Turn
  • #D85Z-3/0 or 2/0 Daiichi Circle Wide® hook
  • 3" or 4" split tail shad (Bass Assassin, C.A.L., etc.)
  • 8-10 pound test braided line
  • Use a slow retrieve with a slight twitching motion.

Don't set the hook, just reel as the fish strikes the hook.

Spinner Bait Tip

Many anglers have missed fish on spinner baits because the fish struck the blades.

Try this tip sent in by guide, Jim Duckworth.

  • Simply slip some aquarium hose over the eye of a #D99Q, size 4 Bleeding Bait treble. (Use size 6 on small baits.)
  • Push the spinner bait hook through the eye and the tubing.
  • Make sure the hook is positioned so the top hook rides up.

Fish will strike the hook, not the blades!
