First of all,
official circulations and rules are often not used, this written script is
based on my own experience and known facts.
Types of Visa
1. Tourist Visa on Arrival
3. Non-Immigrant Visa B
Tourist Visa on
Arrival
You get one for free if you
belong to a citizen of one of the 56 countries listed below. (this will
change in the near future) at the border when entering Thailand.
Maximum stay in Thailand on
this visa: 30 days in a row
Extension: at
Immigration office (Soi 8) you can get a 30 day extension for 500 baht.
Take 2 photographs with you, and
2 copies main pages of your Passport
Remark:
When buying a
single ticket to Thailand, it is possible than your airplane carrier will
comment you, and ask for buying a full return Ticket!!. In case you
like to enter Thailand with a ONE-WAY ticket try to obtain a NON Immigrant
visa. This gives mostly satisfaction to the airplane carrier staff, but
not always...!!!!!.
Non Immigrant Visa B
This visa is normally given in
the country of your passport. It is valid for 1 year.
Note: This visa is marked as a
business visa. To apply for this visa you need to show one or more papers
(invitations) from Thailand based companies, Prepare an invitation letter
or letter than you want to research investment opportunities.
Types: Single Journey /
Multiple Journey
Single Journey: A bit
cheaper than the multiple visa, but more or less not useful. The visa
expires after your first visit.
Maximum stay in Thailand on
this visa: 90 days in a row
Price: depend on country you
reside, around 25 USD
Multiple Journey: Best
and cheapest way to visit Thailand. With this visa you can enter and leave
the country as often as you whish.
Maximum stay in Thailand on
this visa: 90 days in a row
Price: depend on your country
you reside, around 40 USD
After the 90 days you just call
one of the Visa shops and book a guided tour to Cambodia to renew your
visa. Daily Tours are available from 2200 Baht. include all border fees
and transportation.
NON Immigrant Visa (For 1
year)
Application Fee is around
10.000-15.000 baht, but you need to show a lot of papers before starting
out.
Next to that you still need to
show up at the immigration office every 90 days, to fill in a paper where
you life. To my knowledge this visa also has another problem; the visa
expires while leaving the country for a short business trip or what-ever
reason. In case you do not want to expire the visa automatically you need to
fill in special papers at the border.
