Search Guild Recent ThreadsComing out of sandbox or on the way out? I was just wondering what the signs are of a site coming out of sandbox. My site I am convinced is sandboxed as I am getting really bad placings for competitive keywords but good for non competitive keywords and I also never showed any backlinks in G until yesterday. Now I am showing some backlinks (only a fraction of what I have).
Lets say my domain name is www.mydomain.com. Until yesterday a search in G for "mydomain" part of the URL listed me as #1. Today what I am finding is that the same search as before and I am listed about #10 for the same search. The other thing that worries me is according to googlerankings.com the keywords I was using for testing, I was always ranked between 290 and 300 . Now a rank check says I am not listed in the first 1000.
So my question is am I coming out of the sandbox and falling into a bottomless pitt  , or is this normal activity while emerging from the sandbox? Whys my site vanished? My site www.davequirkwashingmachines.com was indexed by Google on Friday and was listing high for various search terms. But today the site has vanished from Google. Does it happen a lot and should I be worried?
Any comments appreciated. Where do I advertise my PPC travel search site? I want to get more people to post travel deals, it's free right now, but the top links are PPC. Where do I advertise this most efficiently? Should I be using Google Adwords, or just use forums/ and ads on PPC info sites?

Found via Jeremy Zawdny's Linkblog Dumped from google! Any Ideas One of my sites, until a day or so ago was ranking really well in google and has been for over 2 years. Last week my hosts server was attacted by some weird virus type problem that caused pages to redirect to another URL causing the the users machine to sometimes crash. The virus was adding a couple of lines if code into each page causing this to happen.
The problem was fixed asap (4 days) but since this happening my site is not listed at all on google. Should I be worried that this site may have been banned or can I expect the site to re rank in the not to distant future.
Comments Appreciated Any Good SEO Book That Someone Tried ? I came across this site like month a go since then my head is spinning from reading each page fallow each link, very much I havent slept for a month and I am still with NO answer and I think more than ever that Google becoming an evil thing.
I am looking for honest advice. Is there any good book in the market that someone tried and was able to benefit from it in a practical way? I am reading a lot of reviews for SEOBOOK but I am in a point I dont believe anything anymore and consider everyone a spammer and trying to make a sale. So HELP please if you dont own a bookstore or an author. Getting indexed by MSN Whats the principle ways that MSN index pages? PageRank Mystery that can help us all understand PR I am lost when it comes to pagerank. I have a 700 plus page site that I won't hyperlink here. I came across an article on my site with no backlinks, just linked to by my own pages - and only 2 at that. One is pr 3 and the other is pr2. Well - this article has a pr that matches my homepage! PR5 - and I don't get it. My homepage doesn't even link to this article?? But there has to be some mathematical answer that may just help a lot of people understand pr. Pagerank is turning out to be really impossible to understand. If my homepage is pr 5, and then the page that links to it is pr 3 - then how is this article a pr5? I'm hoping someone here can crack this cause I have 400 articles on the site and pr is consistent in them all - this just stands out like a thumb. Most of my articles are pr 4,3 and 2 - but are all linked to by stronger pr 5 pages. This is not! This is where the articles is - just an article - successfuloffice.com/Buying-Radio.htm. It is only linked to from this pr 3 page -successfuloffice.com/small-business-help-and-ideas.htm -which is linked to on my homepage - so - it is 3 removed from homepage that is pr5. That's the mystery. I just know someone here can crack this cause I want to badly. a reputable seo I got this email from a company called seoperfection.com, I also got this same email months ago from a company called seo-specialists.com. The company is really Seomatrix - i figured it out by the mailing address at the bottom of the SPAM email.
How can you gaurantee rankings?? Does anyone have any other information on Seomatrix (www.seomatrix.com)? Are they reputable, especially after I received these spam emails. I am in the market for an SEO company and Im not how to find a reputable one.

i was wondering if anyone can tell me why google comes to my index page (actualy it does this about once a day or two) but it doesn't crawl the rest of my pages.
Thanks a lot. mainly URL only listed but have some pages cached Have been having trouble with my site since mid november that if i do a
site:www.domainname.co.uk then it lists most of my site (500 pages) as URL only.
Everyday if I do a search for a particular phrase which is on everyone of my pages and is unique to my site it picks up anything from 10-40 odd of my pages with the cached info. These pages pretty much change every day or so to different ones on my site and the others drop back to URL only. It is though it can only list fully a certain amount of my pages.(my homepage is one that is always listed as URL only and has stayed at PR6 the whole time)
My site has been live around 2 years and has ranked well prior to this and dont think I had any server problems.
Anyone any ideas what could be happening?
High Rankings Search Engine OptimizationMango: Ranking Well In New Msn (Optimization Tips & Techniques) Many of my most important key phrases gets page one ranking in Google, I’m not doing that well in Yahoo but it’s possible to find me on page three. These are highly competitive key phrases (150,000 to 600,000 pages). My problem is that in MSN I’m not in the first 10 pages (I stopped trying there).

Otherwise, you risk confusing people who may not notice that a new window has been opened and instead think that you've somehow managed to "break" their Back button. :)
And don't do it with pop ups unless you're using something like the "perfect pop up" technique to insure that they'll work even in browers with pop up blockers enabled.

QUOTE Julie, it's doubtful that the other domain is the cause. Darn.... QUOTE I agree with Jill's last post (about the other domain not being a cause of the recent shift) and Chris and Ron's posts about 301s. How's that for riding the fence? Boy, talk about diplomacy  Seriously, I really thought that I had a good thing going with long term rankings. The past 9 months I have enjoyed top ten rankings in Google on many phrases. I can resite the "tips for newbies" thread in my sleep. Only implemented what would be useful and non-spammy techniques. Wrote for my visitors with my keywords in mind and only link exchange when it would be useful for my visitors (and Google does show I have 231 "backlinks"). Anyway, I actually was hoping that it was the DNS pointing that contributed to the fall as that is an easy fix. Randy, you are right on that I should have implemented a 301 considering that it isn't too difficult to set up. I just read several places that DNS pointing was not spammy. Which is why I didn't put implementing a 301 redirect as a priority..... And Ron, you too are right on with discerning the cause. I guess it is time for a site review from you all experts..... to see if there is something that I am not doing, or have done  Julie Jill: Term Weight Formula (Keyword Research) My point was that you don't really need to know that stuff to do your job, and in fact, knowing it may end up doing you more harm than good becuase you would be working toward the formulas instead of just creating great web pages naturally!
Jill sonnyyu: Term Weight Formula (Keyword Research) Here we go :applause: Grumpus: Big Change In Google Serps (Industry News)
QUOTE I'm seeing the same with the Blogs I follow. How interesting..... Don't tell anyone, though. It's a secret. ;) G. DanThies: Term Weight Formula (Keyword Research) I hate to point someone at another forum, but Dr. Garcia doesn't post here. He does post at the Search Engine Watch forums, as Orion. Just about everything you're asking here has already been discussed there.
You may be reading too much into this, though. The main point I was trying to get across is that "keyword density" is not part of the algorithm that retrieves search results.
I'll address a couple questions to clarify...
The number of documents in a database refers to how many documents exist in the search engine's database. Google has 8 billion documents in their database, although they may not actually have them all indexed.
The term weight refers to how important that specific term is in retrieving results for a specific query - different queries will be different because they are different, so there is no magic formula for writing a perfect web page.
When Jill says it has nothing to do with the work she does, she's right in one sense, because she just uses natural copywriting. On the other hand, what this stuff really means is that natural copywriting is the logical approach... so in that sense it has everything to do with the work she does.
Wow. I'm having another Zen moment, my conscious mind is breaking. What is the sound of two hands clapping? :applause:
