Shopping in New York is one of the cities main appeals! Even with all the attractions and events in New York City, nothing beats a day of shopping at the fine shops in New York City. Plan a stroll down Fifth Avenue to find the finest in fashion, or check out other famous New York shops, like the Canal Street Shops in Chinatown, where you can find trendy and hip clothing/accessory stores. Or hit up Herald Square where you will find shoe/clothing/accessory stores. At Herald Square, there's also a big indoor shopping mall with six floors, and a glass elevator. Find everything you want and more while shopping in New York City!

Barney’s New York

Barneys continues to provide fashionistas with irresistible objects of desire at its uptown flagship store. With a focus on fashion that is truly New York in every detail, this Madison Avenue apparel icon features top designers like Dries Van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester, Martin Margiela, Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. Enjoy all seven floors of the spacious and airy store interior that features modern furniture and unique architectural elements. Shopping at the famous Barney’s New York is truly an incredible experience!

Century 21 Department Stores

Considered New York’s best kept secret, for many New Yorkers, this is the mother lode of discount shopping. Four large floors are crammed with everything from J. P. Tod's driving moccasins to Ralph Lauren bedding -- on a good day it may seem to lack nothing but a private dressing room. The rows of half-price ties, designer briefs, and shoes are most appealing in the men's merchandise. Scouring the full floor of women's designer clothing can turn up such deals as a Dolce & Gabbana suit for about $370 or Vera Wang silk tops for less than $150.

FAO Schwartz

This world-famous toy emporium is a treat for all visitors to New York City! Upon entering FAO Schwarz, you are greeted by the 3-story clock tower singing "Welcome to Our World of Toys." The adventure is about to begin! Frederick August Otto Schwarz opened his "Toy Bazaar" in NYC in 1870. His prosperous business finally brought him to 745 Fifth Avenue, across the street from this location where Bergdorf-Goodman Men's Shop is now located.

Tiffany & Co.

The window displays can be elegant funny or just plain breathtaking. At Tiffany & Co. you will find the most luxurious and expensive diamonds, rubies and emeralds in the world. You can go elsewhere to buy a Tiffany knockoff, but this is where you will find the real thing. The second level offers sterling silver at more affordable prices. And if you buy a present for someone here, they will certainly be impressed by the famous blue Tiffany's box.

Orchard Street shopping district

The old-world shops sit side by side with a new generation of boutiques and galleries that showcase the best of New York's avant-garde fashion scene. Once primarily a wholesale clothing spot, this street has been designated a historic district. The shops offer designer clothes, shoes and accessories for men and women at discount prices. Catering to an adult shopping clientele, fashions are generally classic as opposed to trendy. Find a Donna Karan, Jones New York or Liz Claiborne suit for under $200, or a leather backpack for $50.
