[b]NAVCOPS NETWORK CODE OF CONDUCT[/b] As part of NAVCOPS Networks commitment to making NAVCOPS Network Discussion Boards a great place to meet and interact with others around the world, you agree to abide by our Code of Conduct. Your commitment to this Code of Conduct in all communities, chats, and discussion groups (newsgroups and message boards) and other group communication services included within NAVCOPS Network communities/forums/message boards/posting areas (herin called "Communities") ensures a positive experience for all our users.
Specific Communities may also have additional guidelines which govern your use, so be sure to review them in addition to this Code of Conduct. [b]Respect Others[/b] NAVCOPS Network welcomes people of all ages, races, religions, genders, national origins, sexual orientations, and points of view. We encourage everyone to treat each other with mutual respect. Do not use NAVCOPS Network to threaten, harass, stalk, or abuse others participating in the Communities. Refrain from all blatant expressions of bigotry, racism, hatred, or profanity. NAVCOPS Network reserves the right to ban a user at any time, without notice, from the Communities for such violations. [b]OPSEC - Operational Security[/b] Do not post anything in the public (open) forums that will violate OPSEC. This can include such things as: troop/ship movements, security practices, confidential phone numbers, identification numbers, command specific procedures, etc. We maintain secure forums for such purposes (and even then please practice OPSEC). The most secure way to talk about such issues with fellow NAVCOPS is to contact them via DSN, in person or .mil email. [b]Keep it Legal[/b]
NAVCOPS Network does not allow any illegal activities. You cannot use the Communities to publish, post, distribute, or disseminate defamatory, infringing, obscene, or other unlawful material or information. NAVCOPS Network reserves the right to remove any Community or any portion of a Community at any time without notice. Do not upload files or post messages that contain photos, software, or other material protected by intellectual property laws, rights of privacy or publicity, or any other applicable law unless you own or control the rights thereto or have received all necessary consents. Since communications in many Communities are available to the public, NAVCOPS Network is not responsible for any use of anything you say or post. Do not post any software or information that contains any destructive features that would harm other users' computers or allow others to illegally access software or Web sites. [b]Play Nice[/b] NAVCOPS Network does not tolerate disruptive activity online, such as persistent off-topic comments and postings or statements that incite others to violate this Code of Conduct or participate in illegal activities. Our participants want to chat and post on NAVCOPS Network in a positive environment. NAVCOPS Network does not allow posting or use of computer programs that contain destructive features such as: viruses, worms, Trojan horses, or bots for the use of scrolling, showing multiple screens, and other activities that can be disruptive to online communication. Falsely impersonating an NAVCOPS Network employee, moderator, agent, Community host or manager, or any other person is forbidden. [b]Don't Sell, Don't Spam[/b] NAVCOPS Network does not tolerate or allow commercial activity in Communities for profit or non-profit use, or the use of NAVCOPS Network as a mass distribution channel. Please don't "spam" on NAVCOPS Network ; none of our users like it. To spam includes sending identical and irrelevant postings to many different discussion groups or mailing lists. Usually such postings have nothing to do with the particular topic of a discussion group or are of no real interest to those on the mailing list. To spam also includes misrepresenting your identity or the source of anything you say or post. Spamming is a serious violation of online etiquette. NAVCOPS Network reserves the right to ban a user at any time, without notice, from the Communities for spamming. [b]Take Responsibility[/b] You are responsible and liable for all your activities while participating in the Communities. Remember, when your communications are available to the public, you are responsible for anything you say or post. Also, you are responsible for any actions you may take based on advice or information you receive online. NAVCOPS Network reserves the right to remove at any time, without notice, any Community or posting(s) that violates this Code of Conduct. Some Communities may provide links to Internet sites that are outside of NAVCOPS Network Communities. Please be advised that NAVCOPS Network is not responsible for the content on the Web sites associated with any links you may view. Some content and links on the Internet may contain adult material and may not be suitable for children. We encourage parents to join their children as they surf and explore the Internet. [b]Uphold the Code[/b] In helping to make NAVCOPS Network Communities a great place to meet and communicate, you must do your part to uphold this Code of Conduct. NAVCOPS Network reserves the right to immediately terminate or suspend access to Communities/discussions/boards for reported violations of our Code of Conduct.
