Tidal Predictions - Saltwater Tides!

Tidal Predictions

Welcome to tidal predictions and saltwater tides for all North American Oceans and saltwater ocean states. In my opinion tidal predictions are one of the most important pieces of information to have before you set out on your fishing trip, especially for inshore fishing waters like sounds, bays, and inland rivers or tributaries. If you are going on a fishing trip from sun-up to sun-down then a tidal forecast isn't as important because you are going to be on the water long enough to catch a tide change or two. But if your time is limited and you want make sure you catch the tide change then tidal information becomes more important. Many fish hit better on the turn so you want to be sure you are in your spot for the tide change.

Some places like Oregon Inlet are more important than others, because if you miss the tide change there it means you are fishing in an almost unfishable rip roaring current that just isn't to much fun to fish; throw in a little wind and Oregon Inlet can even get dangerous real quick. Certain fish like Speckle trout or Flounder for example may bite better on the end of the tide or the beginning of the tide. It is common to fish all day and not catch so much as a minnow, have the tide change and then the bite will turn on fast and furious for 30 minutes or an hour and then go cold again just as soon as the tide starts running a little bit. That's not to say you don't catch as many fish on a rip roaring tide because I have caught certain species when the tides are running at their peak, species like big bluefish or striper will get in those tide rips and tear things up. The tides can be your friend or enemy, depending on what species you are after, make them work for you. Well let's just say a tide forecast or tidal prediction is an important piece of information to know before you leave the dock or hit the beach. Work the tidal situation to your advantage, you will catch more fish. Also make sure you get your marine weather too, your marine weather like your tidal forecast is also an important piece of fishing information. Use the tidal resources below to get tidal predictions for your area.
