Spa Treatments

The Bath operated by the Budapest Association of Spa and Thermal Baths, all courses of cure can be offered to the Hotel guests at the given rates published yearly by the Management of the Spa.

Classification of the mineral- and medical waters of the establishment: Alkali hydrogen carbonate (alkaline), slightly radioactive bitter (sulphate) water - with calcium, magnesium, hydrogen carbonate, chloride, sulphate and fluoride content.

Forget the cares of your business day by experiencing the unique Art Nouveau style Gellért Bath, with indoor thermal baths and outdoor pools. The present building of the baths and hotel called "Szt. Gellért Gyógyfürdő és Szálló" was erected between 1916 and 1918, and opened to the public on 24th September of that year. The outside wave pool was added in 1927, and the sparkling pool was constructed in 1934. Immediately after opening the Spa became well-known throughout the world because of its impeccable art nouveau style and is the most popular in Budapest until today amongst foreign visitors. Besides the sparkling- and wave pools the sunbathing terraces, open from April to late September, are attracting dedicated visitors.

The Gellért Bath operates under the management of the Budapest Association of Spa and Thermal Baths, but Hotel guests are of course admitted free to use the steam bath, sun terrace, the pools and sauna in the Gellért Bath.

Hence the Hotel room price is including the usage of the thermal pools and wave pool, only special treatments like massage are subject to additional fees.

Hence kitchen art was always an important feature of the house and it makes nobody wonder that Károly Gundel first gained fame operating the Gellért's Restaurant before the Second World War. Following Gundel as the Restaurants Chef the Gellért saw numerous creative and highly appreciated chefs who at any time were able to meet and exceed the requirements needed for operating a Gourmet Restaurant's kitchen.
