Upcoming WorldPerks Program Changes

The WorldPerks® program will remain largely unchanged for the 2004 program year.

WorldPerks will maintain its industry-leading Elite qualification structure. To keep Elite qualification realistic and attainable, Northwest will continue to award Elite status based on either Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM) earned OR Elite Qualifying Segments (EQS) flown in a calendar year. Northwest will continue giving full mileage credit towards Elite status on most discount fares. Members traveling on Full Y fares will continue to earn a 50% bonus towards Elite status. Members who purchase business fare types and/or travel short distances can earn Elite status with as few as 20 Elite Qualifying Segments. Our flexible options for Elite qualification include the following:

Benefit Level Required EQMs Required EQSs
Silver Elite 25,000 OR 20
Gold Elite 50,000 OR 40
Platinum Elite 75,000 OR 60

Due to recent changes in the Elite qualification policies of our partners, Continental Airlines and Delta Air Lines, some changes will be made when WorldPerks members fly on Continental- or Delta-operated flights. Effective January 1, 2004, WorldPerks members traveling on select fare types on Continental-operated flights will receive only 50% mileage credit towards Elite qualification. Effective October 26, 2003 and until further notice, WorldPerks members traveling in Coach on Delta-operated flights will receive 100% mileage credit towards Elite qualification.

Northwest will increase the number of miles required for award redemption in two areas - First Class travel from North and Central America to Hawaii and domestic upgrade awards*. First Class award travel from North and Central America to Hawaii has increased to 75,000 or 150,000 miles roundtrip for standard and RuleBustersm awards, respectively. Effective January 1, 2004, 15,000 miles will be required each way for passengers wishing to upgrade domestic itineraries from select coach fares. These changes are made to better manage the high demand for these benefits.

WorldPerks is planning exciting new promotions for our members in 2004! Please continue to visit www.nwa.com frequently for the latest news and updates.

* "Domestic" upgrade itineraries include travel within and between the US48, Alaska and Canada.
