Cobia/Black Kingfish, an all year round target.

BK's Gold Coast Fishing Charters

"The Gold Coast's Biggest Cobia Ever" @ 51 Kilograms, caught on BK's Fishing Charters took Bruce from Bankstown 57 minutes to land.

Pete from Auckland New Zealand displays his Spanish/Blue Bar Mackerel. One of our Summer and Autumn targets. Like most of our "Macks" look how close the shore is...that's comforting for some of our first timers - in which we specialize.

BK's Weekly Gold Coast Fishing Report.
Last weeks captures on BK's Gold Coast Fishing Charters included...Green Back Tailor, Trag Jew, Snapper, Black and Blue Marlin, and Sailfish.
Cobia, Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Mackerel, Sailfish and Marlin are our current trophy fish targets.

Today’s Big Day Out, from John Hansell to BK's Gold Coast Fishing Charters...
What a unique day we had today. To say that it was a once in a lifetime experience is an understatement. I would find it hard to believe that the sights and experiences we did today on your fishing charter could be duplicated. Besides the many different types of reef fish we caught, we saw so much wildlife, dolphins (of which one in particular brings back some of the fish that we release to show you before swallowing...amazing), turtles, shark, flying fish and many different sea birds. Whilst in the car driving home to Brisbane [Big] John Zed relived his experience of catching that huge Amberjack. Even as a spectator it was excellent. We’ll be back, definitely. Again thank you for the day. F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C
Regards, John Hansell, Red Rooster Area Manager Area 3 Queensland Australia.

My Epic Battle - from Ken to BK's Gold Coast Fishing Charters - At daybreak on the 4th of October while most of my work colleagues were in slumber land, an epic battle between man and beast was underway in the Pacific Ocean. I was on BK’s Gold Coast Fishing Charters boat approximately 9 kilometers out to sea opposite Surfers Paradise, when I hooked this monster of the deep. The skills I had learnt in the waters of the Goulburn River were of little use. This, "whatever it was" took the live baitfish with such force that I thought I had hooked Jaws III. An intense struggle then took place between fish and man, the fish desperately trying to throw the hook, tow us to the south pole or pull me out of the boat, me wondering - "What the hell is going on here."
I attempted to reel it in, centimeter by centimeter, meter by meter, painstakingly, frustratingly but with amazing anticipation of success mixed with pangs of anxiety and fear of failure it inched closer and slowly closer to the boat, (the coaching of technique from the crew was incredible) finally a flash of colour - brown and white, a silhouette - huge, a fin broke the surface, someone called "shark", Capt'n Bob grinned - "nah  - better - Cobia - Black kingfish - fantastic eating", I was elated, thinking victory was close, the gaff was within one meter - to my astonishment it "ran" taking out what seemed to be more line that it previously had - 4 Bloody times, 4 different Bloody directions, then it just sulked on the bottom. All along Captain Bob, shouted instructions in colorful dialect, "If you let it rest, we'll be here all day - but when it runs let him run, when it stops, turn him - he's buggered - work him back - pump and wind - smooth - "Rex would be proud of you". 33 minutes passed, (by the stop watch) it seemed like 3 hours, the gaff struck,  slam - it hit the deck to the thunderous cheers of all on board - I stared in shock - did I really catch that? Someone said, pick it up - it's Kodak time, where did the strength come from? How do you feel asked Bob - What a rush, they won't believe this back home. It weighed 39kg, made the Channel 9 news (fish of the week) and all my mates back at the Gold Coast resort we stayed at were eating juicy fresh fish for the remainder of the week. Thanks to BK’s Gold Coast Fishing Charters - for the unforgettable experience.

Barbeque For 25 from Chantal to BK's Gold Coast Fishing Charters: Hi Bob, Just a quick note to say thank you for taking us out on your fishing charter. The boys had a ball. The cobia fed all 25 at our BBQ and Justin & I had the Snapper on Sunday night, it was absolutely delicious. Thanks heaps, we will come out again. Cheers Chantal Leigh - Smith.

Office Topic. From Pretar to BK's Gold Coast Fishing Charters; Bob, thanks for the fantastic day out on Saturday.  Everybody really enjoyed it and it has been the discussion topic of the whole office for the last three days. I have forwarded on your details to a couple of work colleagues who want to take their families out. Also everybody here is keen for another trip, Kind Regards, Pretar Harris. Qinvest, South Queensland.

Thanks for a great day. G'Day Bob, Just a short email note to thank you for a fantastic days fishing last week. You made my fishing mad boy's holiday. At 7 yrs old, Shane spends his every
spare moment estuary fishing near our Sydney northern beaches home. He had never even seen a fish as big as the tuna that he caught on the day and I appreciate your instruction, skill and considerable local knowledge that allowed it to happen. Without doubt, these were some of the most enjoyable tourist dollars I have ever spent. Your boat and gear were in first class condition with plenty of room even with a full charter. The whole experience has inspired me and I will strongly recommend your services to any friends heading to the Gold Coast. Thank you again and looking forward to our next visit. Regards Jeff Conly.
