Employment

The Alaska Public Defender Agency employs 65 lawyers in 13 offices throughout Alaska. Interviews for attorney positions are conducted on an ongoing basis. Send resumes, references and writing samples to the director. Hiring preference is given to attorneys licensed by the Alaska Bar Association.

The Alaska Public Defender Agency Summer Intern Program provides an exciting educational opportunity to students who have completed half of their law school course work. Volunteers are placed in each of the offices, trained, and Bar certified to appear in court proceedings. Send resumes, references and writing samples to the director by January 15.
