Wine Tips
The age record is for a bottle of Bergerac wine, which survived
on the bed of the Atlantic for 220 years under water. In 1749,
the "Amsterdam", the jewel of the Dutch merchant navy, sank
offshore the English coast, near Hastings. It was not until 1969
that archaeologists located her wreck, and to their
astonishment, restored her precious cargo to the light of day :
12, 000 intact bottles of red Bergerac wine ! |
