A tradition since 1938. Lawry's, The Prime Rib is a welcome addition to the fine dining venues of Las Vegas. This restaurant is styled after the original Lawry's The Prime Rib in Beverly Hills. Prime rib is the name and they do it well. Succulent standing prime rib roasts are showcased on carts and carved tableside. They offer 4 different cuts of beef, each seasoned to perfection with Lawry's own special blend of herbs and spices. In fact, the Lawrys Seasoned Salt sold in supermarkets around the world is one of the owner's creations. Each prime rib dinner comes with the "Famous Original Spinning Bowl Salad". This unique presentation is a variety of fresh crisp lettuces, chopped beets & eggs, watercress and croutons spun on a bed of ice. Creamy white mashed potatoes and whipped horseradish complete the plate. It's all delicious, especially with a little extra au jus on the side.
There is a daily selection of fresh fish or lobster for those not wishing to partake of the house specialty. If you prefer, you may also order creamed spinach, creamed corn or butterd peas to accompany your dinner. Baked potatoes are also available but I suggest the mashed because nobody does them better except Mom.
And let's not forget dessert, although not my preference, all prime rib dinners do include small skillets of homemade Yorkshire Pudding. And for those special holidays, like Thanksgiving and Christmas, they offer full traditional dinners, too.
The atmosphere is comfortable, quiet and strikingly chic. The old fashioned style ceiling lamps and wall sconces blend with the traditional wait staff uniforms which have not changed since 1938. The service is superb.
