1. Can I have a receipt for my hire?
A yellow copy of the contract is given to you upon completion of the paperwork and will show what method of payment you used and also can be used for tax purposes. If you sign your paperwork at the office we will give you a copy of any transaction processed through our eftpos terminal.
2. Do your cars have towbars?
No, none of the vehicles in our fleet have towbars as we find this strains the engine and causes unnessecary wear and tear.
3. If I return the car to your office , can I get a ride to the airport?
From the office we use a taxi company who will take customers to the airport for $25. On occasion if we are heading in the direction of the airport we will be more than willing to take you out there, but this depends on daily business.
4. What happens if I return the car outside business hours?
If you return our car outside business hours, please park in the spaces provided and put your key through the key retrun slot on the left hand side of the door.
5. Do you do free pick ups and drop offs?
Yes, we will gladly deliver your car to any inner city accomodation within the city limits or to any accomodation out near the airport. This does not apply to the North Shore of Auckland or to suburbs in West Auckland. If you are in these areas, do your best to get to the central city and we can collect you from there.
6. Do you do one way hires?
Yes, we can do one way hires to Wellington and Christchurch, these need to be taken for 21 days minimum to Christchurch and 14 days minimum to Wellington. On occasion we will make allowances if we need stock in other centres.
7. If I cancel my hire after booking what are the procedures?
If you have confirmed your hire with a credit card number, this will be charged a cancellation fee of 10% of the total value of the hire.
8. Do I have to pay the excess if someone crashes into me?
Yes, In any instance when an accident occurs you are initially liable for the excess until the Insurance company decide where the liability lies.
9. Can I extend my hire?
There is a minimum of 72 hours required for extensions to your contract. Due to availablity in high season. We cannot guarantee any extension.

10. Do I get a refund if I return early?
If you return your car before the time stated on your contract, no refund applies.
11. What do your rates include?
All of our rates include GST, Insurance, 24 Hour Roadside Assistance with the AA, and Unlimited Kilometres. Insurance is subject to an excess depending on whether you choose to purchase the Insurance Waiver.
12. How do I pay for my hire?
Payment is to be made at the commencement of the hire. We will gladly accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, Travellor’s Cheques and Eftpos.
13. Can I drive on my overseas drivers licence?
We accept full valid drivers licences from most countries. International driving licences are accepted. Our minimum age to hire a car is 21 years.
14. Do we have to refuel the vehicle?
All vehicles start with a full tank of petrol and are refueled on return at the hirers expense. Fuel is not included in our rates.
15. Are maps available?
Complimentary maps, tour guides and activity brochures are provided free of charge for your convenience.
16. Can I drive off road or on the beach?
Do not drive any of our vehicles off road or onto any New Zealand beaches. Penalties up to $2000 apply.
17. Can I smoke in the car?
For the comfort of all our customers we encourage NO SMOKING in all of our vehicles. A valet charge will apply, minimum $50.
18. Do I have to clean the car?
Please ensure all personal belongings and rubbish are removed from the vehicle, a valet charge may apply in extreme cases, ie Chocolate or food stains on upholstery. GO Rentals takes no responsibility for any items left in cars.
19. What do I do if I have an accident?
Ensure all damage and accidents are reported to a GO Rentals representative the day it happens. In the event of an accident fill in the appropriate form on the contract binder brochure. This will prompt you to give us the correct information that we need.
20. What if I’m running late and can’t return the car at the stated time on the contract?
If you are running late we will give you 1 hour to return. After this you will be charged at one-fifth of the daily rate per hour, up to five hours when another days rental will be charged. If you fail to notify us and are not at the expected point of return at the time stated you will attract a surcharge of $15 per hour up to 5 hours and $60 per day thereafter in addition to the daily rate.
