GM Donates $1 Million to Red Cross for Tsunami Relief
General Motors announced that the GM Foundation will donate $1 million in cash to the International Response Fund of the American Red Cross to support relief efforts on behalf of victims of the tidal wave disaster. GM, through its foundation, also will match up to $1 million in contributions made by GM employees to the International Response Fund of the American Red Cross, UNICEF and CARE.

The Dow Chemical Company Supports American Red Cross Tsunami Relief Efforts
The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) announced today that it will contribute $5 million to the relief efforts underway for victims of the recent earthquake and subsequent tsunamis in Southeast Asia and the Indian sub-continent. Andrew Liveris, Dow president and chief executive officer, in an impassioned statement explained that Dow Chemical would make an immediate $1 million monetary contribution to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, as well as matching up to $1 million in matching individual contributions from Dow’s more than 40,000 employees and 70,000 retirees around the world. Dow also pledged an additional $3 million in products, technologies and funds for longer-term reconstruction efforts, as needed and appropriate.
