Your Canada Fishing Guide
Not all Canada fishing guides are alike. Some are born of the land, are raised in the area,
and have the saltwater pulsing through their veins. Other guides are left high and dry when
they go salmon and halibut fishing. John Wells, however, was brought up on the water. He started
fishing sea perch under docks and had his first boat by age seven. He grew up racing sailboats
and worked for many years as a crew member and later as skipper. He has fished for as long as
he can remember and is one of the rare men with saltwater pulsing through his veins.

As a boy, John's parents took him up to Campbell River every year to stay for the summer
and fish. He fished Campbell River in the days when Bob Hope and John Wayne came up to fish
the Tyee pool. John soon knew the patterns of the fish and where they could be found when he
wanted them. He became a Canada fishing guide at age 12 when he started guiding other campers
to the fish when they couldn’t find any. It is this natural upbringing that makes the difference
between a good Canadian salmon or halibut guide and a great one like John Wells.
Unlike most Canada fishing guides, John has a plan. For example: on Aug 18th he starts to watch
the Nitnat bar, because that's when the fifty pound Chinook start to congregate there. There are
many dates that he watches and the list is a big key to successful fishing. That list allows
John to know your prey and where they can be found at any time. Come fish with Hind Sight and
see for yourself why we are the best.
