Ohio Campgrounds
Ohio State Parks - The state of Ohio offers 57 parks with campgrounds accommodating all types of tents and trailers. Several parks offer walk-in tent camp sites with minimal facilities. The Ohio state campgrounds provide, at a minimum, drinking water, restrooms or latrines, pads for parking a car or trailer, picnic tables and fire rings.
Many state of Ohio campgrounds offer electrical hookups, showers, laundry facilities, camp stores and playgrounds, as well as beaches, boat launch ramps and boat docks or tie-ups. A few Ohio state park campgrounds offer full-service sites for recreational vehicles including 50-amp electrical service, sewer and water hookups. Pets are allowed on designated sites.
The Ohio state parks with campgrounds feature a variety of different lodging rental options including RV's, cottages, cedar cabins, and even tepees. You can view campground availabilty and reserve a campsite or rental at an Ohio state campground on-line, by calling the individual park, or by calling 1-866-OHIOPARKS.
Privately Owned Ohio Campgrounds - As all experienced campers are aware, privately owned campgrounds are as varied as the tents, trailers, and rv's that set up camp in them. Having a few good guides to help you select your campground is very important. We also recommend considering joining a camping club such as The Good Sam Club. Good Sam members receive discounts on overnight camping at over 1,750 RV Parks including Ohio campgrounds, gas/diesel and food discounts, 10% off the cost of RV parts and accessories at hundreds of service centers, a free subscription to Highways magazine, and so much more.
