Communication between two different LATAs.

InterLATA

Communication between Local Access Transport Areas. 1982 MFJ requires LECs to use an IEC for InterLATA services.

International

Between multiple nations.

Interstate

Between multiple states. Interstate communications are regulated by the FCC.
