Toll Fraud
A crime in which a "hacker" obtains telecommunication
services by: breaching computer security, using or selling
stolen long-distance credit-card codes, or, accessing
a PBX and using its communication facilities illegally.
Toll Fraud is estimated to cost U.S. companies $1.2
billion/year.
Trunk
A communication channel between two switching systems;
usually refers to large bandwidth phone channels
between switching systems that handle mass quantities
of voice and data simultaneously.
Trunk Group
A group of trunks with essentially the
same characteristics that run between the same two
geographic points.
TTY
A type of machine that allows people with hearing or
speech disabilities to communicate over the phone
using a keyboard and a viewing screen. It is sometimes
called a TDD.
