![]() Charitable Gift Annuities
The amount of the annual payments is determined at the time the annuity contract is written. Prevailing interest rates and the age of the donor (and, if desired, a survivor such as a spouse) at the time of the contract are key factors in setting the payment. Two-life annuities (donor and a survivor) tend to have lower rates as the contract will generally be longer. The payments may be in annual, semi-annual or quarterly installments. After the donor's (and survivor's, if appropriate) lifetime, the remaining portion of the gift is given to the Garden.
A charitable gift annuity can provide tax benefits now and a lifetime income for the donor and a survivor or beneficiary if desired. There is also the personal satisfaction that comes with making a difference and helping the Garden continue its mission.
