DIAL UP  VS   DEDICATED

A connection modem or router that dials on demand is called a dial up account.  A dial up account will dial on demand when a user wishes to reach connection with the Internet.  Typically, the connection stays up as long as the user is using it and for a period thereafter after which time the connection will drop (disconnect).  A dedicated connection is when the connecting modem or router stays connected at all times.  The dedication connection is most desired when the user is accessing their system or network from the Internet.    Carolinas.net will be the Web server hosting the site.  We are connected to the Internet in a dedicated mode.  We use multiple DS3 fiber optic connections to ensure the clarity.  The ability to access corporate data from anywhere in the world or the ability to deploy an Internal messaging system by connecting a dedicated e-mail server to the Internet are other helpful uses of the dedicated mode.  If you have any questions regarding these type of dedicated services please contact our sales department at
info@carolinas.net or call us at (704) 672-1600.
