Benin
Overview

Benin’s Population Policy Declaration (PPD), adopted in 1996, aims to address population issues and reduce poverty. It calls for expanded access to quality reproductive health services, as well as increased educational and employment opportunities for girls and women. The PPD programme of action will be elaborated by the first quarter of 2003 by the newly created Population and Human Resources General Direction.
