This opulently decorated marble and bronze casino, which has been the subject of countless legends and the setting for many films, was laid in 1861, in the reign of Charles III, on the isolated plateau of the Spelugues - five years later, the new town of Monte Carlo. It features all the glitz and glamour that has made this city famous.

CASINO DE MONTE CARLO

Surrounded by cultivated gardens, the casino stands on a panoramic terrace, offering one of the grandest views along the entire Riviera. In July ‘Les Nuits de la Danse’ (Dance Nights) of the charming ballet’s perfomances from the repertoire of the famous Ballets of Monte-Carlo hold on the terraces of the Monte-Carlo Casino. The main building is connected on its left (when seen from the front) to a series of other buildings which house the gaming rooms, opened every day (except 1st May) from midday onwards.
