Thank you taking a look at our campsite. If you
like camping and caravanning you will probably
love Fforest Fields. We want to help you decide
that Fforest Fields is where you want to camp
or caravan. "Camping as it used to be!"
as one of our customers
put it.

We want you to come and enjoy it here, and return,
and tell your friends about the relaxing time
you enjoyed in our natural setting. Choosing the
wrong campsite can ruin a good break and your
enjoyment of your holiday is so very important
to us.

Fforest Fields is a secluded seven acre rural
caravan campsite a few miles from the market town
of Builth Wells in central Wales. It is well drained
and almost level with generous grass and hardstand
pitches served by a circuit road. It is landscaped
with lots of trees to provide shelter and screening.
There is a central looblock with free power showers,
which is kept pristine at all times.

Dog friendly
|
We are a dog friendly site for well-behaved dogs and
Fforest Fields is an ideal place for a dog walking holiday.
Dogs just love it here, as there are masses of lovely
farm and woodland walks straight off the site, so dog
walking is a real pleasure. A maximum of two dogs are
allowed per pitch unless prior permission given. There
is no charge for dogs.
|
|
Quiet
|
There is no traffic noise as the site is tucked well
away from the minor A-road. We are very relaxed because
we want you to be too. We only really have one rule,
"consider your neighbours"!

Surprisingly it's not that far.
Towing a caravan from Birmingham and the West
Midlands only takes a couple of hours, about two
and a half from Bristol and just over three from
Manchester. The roads around here are good and
normally traffic free. Check our location page
for details and suggested routes. The site is
well signed and has a wide entrance off the A481
about half a mile from the village of Hundred
House.

We are enormously proud of our campsite and the
birds and wildlife it harbors. Although we mow
it carefully we leave the borders and wildlife
banks as sanctuaries for small mammals and insects
which feed the birds. We take pride that David
Bellamy has presented us a Gold Award for the
fourth year for our work in environmental conservation.

The campsite is in the middle of our 500 acre
upland farm and nestles at the foot of the beautiful
Aberedw Hill. You can walk where you like on the
farm and tracks that wind up through our woodland
to the open hill. There you can walk for hours
and not meet a soul. Dogs love these walks, as
there is so much to explore.

New this year the Upper Wye Passport voucher
system enables you to enjoy fishing for wild trout,
salmon and winter grayling in the pretty, unspoilt
tributaries of the upper Wye
A total of 22 'beats' on 8 tributaries have been
assembled for the vouchers giving miles of fishing
and days of enjoyment.
There are also stocked trout lakes at Builth
and Painscastle.
Coarse fishing is available in Llandrindod Wells.

Please take a look at our photo gallery to see
why campers like it here so much. They say a picture
says a thousand words so we've made the photos
very quick to download and enlarge.

People say such nice things about us that we ought
to let you know!
|
|
|
|
|
We keep our prices as low and simple as we can. The
site is unpretentious and not at all commercialized.
|
|
|
|
Shop
|
We have no shop but keep basics like milk, eggs bacon
and fresh orange juice in a fridge in the reception.
The village shop and post office in Hundred House is
a mile away.
|
|
|
|
|
We do not have a clubhouse, and no statics, nor do
we have a swimming pool. Even so children love it on
the campsite because there is so much to explore in
safety. They often play all day in the shallow stream
and ponds or go for adventures in the woodland.
|
|
|
|
|
We concentrate on maintaining our campsite as beautiful
as possible whilst not making it too fussy. We keep
the loos and showers spotless as we can manage. The
showers are free.
