Australian Internet Directory

This test is an attempt to find a substantial difference in ranking between using the one link of anchor text, "Australian Internet Directory" upon anthonyparsons.com homepage initially to record the overall ranking result once fairly stable. This test is within live search engine competition and will fluctuate mildly because of that fact. An accurate reading can be obtained if a significant difference is measured between only one inbound link between like themed pages / sites, compared to when the anchor text is used upon every page of a site and remains pointed towards the same page. In this case, the page is this one.

The Australian Internet Directory that the links will be placed from is anthonyparsons.com Australian Internet Directory. Funny that hah. That directory is already established as an authority within the search engines as a unique and authoritive Australian focused website. The directory ranks accordingly within Google, MSN and Yahoo as an authority for that term.

The interesting point, in my opinion, is when we begin testing part 2 and 3 of the test. I will really like to see what the initial drop is when the entire site of anthonyparsons.com is anchored with the term "Internet Directory Australia" towards this site, then the term is changed to "chunky chocolate" (CC) upon this page. This will also be likewise when the link is changed down to the one homepage link, compared to the entire site attempting to rank a non-related non-competitive term.

Stats to help us along:

Australian Internet Directory:         allintitle :: 354 :: Google            search :: 2,600,000
CC:                                              allintitle :: 351 :: Google            search :: 101,000

Australian Internet Directory:         allintitle :: 717 :: Yahoo            search :: 1,380,000
CC:                                              allintitle :: 193 :: Yahoo            search :: 208,000

Australian Internet Directory:          title :: 9093 :: MSN                  search :: 273,478
CC:                                               title :: 193 :: MSN                     search :: 39,534

Part 3 of the test is nothing more than a confirmatory for me, more than anything, though I will document the results anyway. It will give me an idea to work out between percentages from part 2 vs part 3 to obtain a middle ground to float an accurate assessment upon. If the relevant difference was very close between part 2 and part 3 as a percentage based upon each engine accordingly, then I will be quite happy with that, if not, then an approximate figure for an overall result will also do just as good. As you can see from the search engine results above, Google is fine for the test with true competitiveness within the title, however; the other two vary quite significantly.

I think for this test, the result may even only travel accurately for Google, with further testing on Yahoo and MSN to be performed individually.
