WalkAmerica Online Fundraising Tool Privacy Policy

The Online Fundraising Tool is intended to help walkers and teams maximize their fundraising efforts; therefore, the March of Dimes has made every effort to provide an application that is safe and secure.

Collection and Use of Personally Identifiable Information
The March of Dimes does not retain names, addresses and email addresses of persons invited to use the system that do not actually participate. For walkers and team captains, it is necessary to store information in order to use the tool effectively. This information goes back to the local chapter's database for future correspondence. Opportunities to "opt-out" of this correspondence will be offered in the future. Your name will not be transferred to any 3rd party without your permission. Sponsors are asked whether they would like their personally identifiable information to be kept in the March of Dimes system; but this is completely optional. Credit card numbers are NOT retained by the March of Dimes.

Credit card security
The March of Dimes has made every reasonable effort to protect the security of online donations. The system processes numbers and collects funds during the donation process, eliminating the need to store information. We have used secure socket layer and Verisign® technology to further secure these transactions.

Cookies
A major element of the online fundraising tool is the ability to carry information from page to page to make this a valuable tool. We are not using Session Cookies neither Persistent Cookies on the WalkAmerica fundraising site.
