Danny Green's fury builds for Beyer rematch

Just when those following the twists and turns of the WBC super middleweight title thought nothing more bizarre or unusual could happen, German promoter Wilfried Sauerland announced on Tuesday that title holder Markus Beyer would make an optional defence of the belt against Yoshinori Nishizawa on December 18 in Germany. This fight has been made even though WBC Interim champion Danny Green (pictured) is waiting for his chance and had previously been guaranteed by the WBC first shot at Beyer after the German had regained the title from Italian Christian Sanavia on October the 9th ..........................more.

G,day everyone,

A quick update on my preparation for the Beyer rematch on March 12th.

I have started intense training, twice a day, with one session of boxing, and the other session roadwork and sprints.

I have been doing gruelling hill sprints at the homebush man made pyramids. They are really taxing on the lungs and the legs, and the lactic acid build is all fun and games. At the end of my session, when I feel like throwing up and lying down, I do one more hill, just for Beyer.

Then its home for a stretch and a shower, and into a full brekky of beans, eggs and cereal with fresh fruit.

My boxing sessions consist of a warm up, shadow boxing, then very intense padwork with Jeff. Then a dumbell routine, then skipping, followed up with push ups and a heavy stomache workout.

Its all about quality, not quantity, so the sessions are short yet very fast and explosive.

I have been having chiro 3 times a week, massage 2 times a week, and plenty of hot baths, to help my body recover for the next days training.

I start sparring next week with Paul Miller, the best southpaw in Australia, and one the finest boxers in the Super Middle Weight division. My sharpness will be improved greatly by working with Paul.
