Suwannee Valley Internet was conceived in the fall of 1996, researched during the Winter months and Brought to life in the Early Spring of 1997. After months of Delays and stonewalling by Our upstream providers and BellSouth, we finally came online July 18,1997. WooHoo!!! SVIC is a closely held Corporation consisting of The President, C. David Lindsey, and The vice-president, Charles D. Lindsey.
SVIC was borne of the idea that a faster and better Internet connection could be established if growth was controlled and proper planning was implemented. We are now experiencing moderate growth with equipment already in place to accommodate another 100% growth without need to upgrade the system.
David, is the President is also in charge of day to day operations, and maint of the system. He also handles tech support, installations, and limited web development. He went to School at The University of South Florida and Florida College. He is now working on a variety of Certifications.
Charles is retired from a successful sales career, is in charge of marketing and the business end of the operation. Charles went to Florida College and University of Florida.
Toni Magretto is the keymaster to the books. Without her SVIC would have disappeared in red ink years ago. She has been a rock during tough times in keeping our records in order.
Mike Johns, Great friend, computer afficionado, and tireless worker. Every day Mike has off, hes at the office helping out with computer repair, Wireless deployment and Account creations. More than once we would of drown in backlogs if Mike had not been there to help that day.
Daisy Thomas is point for Tech support calls and Account creation. She also assists in Book and record keeping. Others who are contracted to help with the day to day operations and implementation of the business includeSuwannee Valley Computers.
Field operations which include installations and sales are contracted out and are handled by various Individuals and firms One last note goes to our bank that helped us get everything off the ground.
Tri-County Bank of Trenton, Fl. Without their belief in our dream, none of this would have happened.
And to all our customers and businesses who stuck with us, the small guy, to establish an Internet Presence in this area when Bellsouth and the other monopolies didnt think there was enough money to make it worth their time.
And last but not least to a friend ive only met in person a couple of times, but has been monumental in helping me work through problems ive encountered along the way. Glenn, of www.caterfamily.net. Who took time out of his busy day as a network security manager for a mega corp.to help a complete stranger. Thanks alot Glenn. |
