Some
of the TOP Hotels in Bali
Bali's
most famous and crowded resort is Kuta beach, a six-kilometre
sweep of golden sand, with plenty of accommodation,
shops and nightlife. Nearby Sanur is much quieter, but
most backpackers prefer the beaches of peaceful east-coast
Candi Dasa and traveller-oriented Lovina on the north
coast. The island's other major destination is the cultural
centre of Ubud , a still charming but undeniably commercialized
overgrown village, where traditional dances are staged
every night of the week and the streets are full of
arts-and-crafts galleries.

Rohandy Accommodation, Rp150, is right on its own peninsula.
Quiet, and you can spit in the water. This is the nicest
location of all the losmens in Ambarita, but rooms in
the two Batak houses here are smallish. They serve pekora
(Indian pancakes), Rp200, and guacamole salad, Rp150.
Watch the ducks paddle by. Kristen Murmi's is in the
kampung near the landing stage. Could be noisy but couldn't
be closer to the water; good food. Also try Mr. Tumpal's
restaurant nearby on the corner for mie kua with egg,
only Rpl00. Gordon's, backs minutes from the water,
has two Batak houses in a garden full of giant flowers
and a 'favorites' tape collection in his restaurant.
Amigo Inn and mini restaurant, clean and quiet, has
a good atmosphere and is only 5 meters from the beach.
