Cuisine and the Yangtze River Cruise

From fertile east to mountainous west, local dishes along Yangtze represent a wide variety and the best quality of Chinese cuisine. Among eight most famous regional school of cuisine, Sichuan Cuisine, Huaiyang Cuisine, Zhejiang Cuisine, Hunan Cuisine and Anhui Cuisine were watered by Yangtze River. Since all deluxe Yangtze cruise ships have their master gourmet chefs good at certain kinds of local specialties, especially Sichuan and Hubei style dishes, dining aboard will be a wonderful part of your voyage.

To satisfy a broad range of clients, usually a deluxe Yangtze cruise ship provides a variety of dining options. Every ship features a well decorated dinning hall that can accommodate all passengers in one seating (except Regal China Cruises 3 bigger ships), plus some smaller restaurants with specialties for banquets and alternative casual choices. Breakfast is normally buffet style, with both Chinese and Western foods, beverages and fruits served. Lunch and dinner are usually in Chinese style, delivered to table with a seating of 10 people. The average lunch and dinner include a varied selections (appetizers with cold dish combinations, food sculpture, soups, and desserts) and six main courses, usually consisting of common local and seasonal dishes, such as pork meat, vegetables and fishes. You will find that dishes would never repeat during your whole cruise trip. There is virtually no limit on what or how much you can eat and best of all, one thing you will not see on the menu is a price!

There will be a welcome and a farewell banquet hosted by the captain, where all passengers will be treated with a great variety of fabulous master dishes, wines, beverages and fruits, all served in a traditional order.

You can order a room service or a from a special menu to reflect multiple dining preferences (vegetarian, religious or children's) and it may or may not be with some extra charges. It is recommended that you order one day or half a day in advance.

The dining experience, which includes food, service and atmosphere, is integral to any successful cruise. We are sure that you are going to have a great one on Mighty Yangtze!
