Narmada
Some
of the TOP Hotels in Bali
Bali's
most famous and crowded resort is Kuta beach, a six-kilometre
sweep of golden sand, with plenty of accommodation,
shops and nightlife. Nearby Sanur is much quieter, but
most backpackers prefer the beaches of peaceful east-coast
Candi Dasa and traveller-oriented Lovina on the north
coast. The island's other major destination is the cultural
centre of Ubud , a still charming but undeniably commercialized
overgrown village, where traditional dances are staged
every night of the week and the streets are full of
arts-and-crafts galleries.

10 km from Cakranegara, Rp25 by bemo. A restful 3-tiered
swimming pool, a part of the old raja's kingdom where
he used to make his selection from the village lovelies.
Worth a couple of hours walking around and swimming.
The lakeside park is surrounded by somewhat dilapidated,
terraced, ornamental gardens. Don't need to take a picnic
lunch as there's a warung inside the complex and plenty
more in town. Suranadi: 7 km out of Narmada. Take a
bemo from Cakranegara to Narmada, Rp25, then pick up
another bemo for Suranadi for Rp50. A small temple and
gardens are here. See the rebuilt ruined baths of kings
carved in the Balinese style. Really cold water bubbling
up. At the temple of the Holy Eels, eels will swim out
of conduits if you drop an egg in the water for them
to eat. Stay at flash Hotel Suranadi that has a swimming
pool, Rp7000 a day. Sesaot forest is 3 km from Suranadi.
There's an old Balinese temple at Lingsar, west of Suranadi
or 4 km from Narmada, which combines Hindu and Islamic
motifs
.
