The aim of this 3-month expedition, starting from the South Pole, is to make the first ski traverse and exploration of the highest and most significant ice feature in Antarctica. This region, also the highest point in Australian territory, is understood to record the coldest temperatures on earth and is regarded by the world's leading astronomers as the ultimate site for an earth-based space observatory.
