Lander breaks ground
for new dorm

Lander broke ground on Dec. 1 for the construction of a new state-of-the-art residence hall to accommodate 300 students. Tentatively dubbed “Centennial Hall,” the 90,000-square-foot residence hall is scheduled to open in 2006. The design features suites of four single occupancy rooms sharing common living areas and bathrooms. Bedrooms and commons areas will be furnished. There will be study and meeting rooms on each floor as well as laundry rooms equipped with televisions. A 320-seat multipurpose room/smart classroom will be located in the lower level of the facility. Wireless internet access and cable television service will be provided in this facility.
