For those who feel they are gifted psychically, meditation may seem to be the prime means of conscious-raising and being able to "look beyond." What many seem to lack though is the proper technique(s) for spiritual meditation. A mantra is always helpful to "center" oneself and there are those who ascribe to the philosophy of transcendental meditation. I believe that the ancients possessed the rare insight for attaining a deep and fulfilling trance. Whether this knowledge was at one time secret I cannot say. However, I stil believe that it is still attainable. I would like to exchange thoughts with those who believe in attaining a higher level of consciousness for spiritual fulfillment.
