Open Extra Doors To Your Online Business
In this issue we would like to give you some ideas about how to catch extra prospects on your web site. Let us give you an example. One of our clients sells seeds. As you realize, his web site's priority goal is to provide prospects with prices and allow customers to order products and pay through the shopping cart on his web site. But we have launched an additional "Articles" directory. We have put there a few facts about seed's influence on human health and healing. For a while, there are only 3 articles in this directory: "Flaxseed Could Fight Cancer", "Flax Seed Muffins Fight Breast Cancer" and "Eating Your Way to Good Health and Youthful Vitality". By statistics, the word "health" and other words connected with health are the most searchable words in search engines and directories. The result after publishing of a few articles is that the web site has been receiving extra prospects that find the articles in search engines and come to the web site through them. Now, the web site receives not only the visitors who look for "flax seed", "seeds for sale", etc. in search engines, but also "breast cancer", "flax seed muffins", and other key phrases about health. The article pages for the web site get 42.5% of all total hits. In other words, we've opened one more door to the business.
But did we exhaust all of our resources to attract more visitors? We think, no. The owner of the web site has placed the information about the good role of flax seed muffins in fighting breast and prostate cancer. It is good. But wouldn't it be nice if we could find some recipes how to make the flax seed muffins on the web site? Let's think like a typical visitor. On the web site you've read about flax muffins and realized that they are the only thing you ever wanted and needed. But on the web site, they don't sell the flax seed muffins. What are you going to do next? You open Google.com and start looking for web sites which sell the flax seed muffin or maybe a recipe. On the first web site you've found the important information about the flax seed muffin, but you didn't get the idea or any directions to make the muffin on your own! If there would be some recipes on the first web site, of course you would buy flax seed there and start making the muffins yourself.
Another example about the same site. The owner sells soy beans for making tofu and roasting. Don't expect that your visitors KNOW how to make tofu and how to roast. Don't expect that they will buy the soy beans on your web site and look for recipes on other web sites. Of course it is not a problem to find all necessary information online, but convenience is what your web site should be about. Give them the recipes RIGHT NOW. Put pictures of the tofu and soy beans roasting that make everyone's mouth water.
Take care of your visitors' time. Give your visitors all necessary information. Make your web site a one-stop store. Your visitors will appreciate it.
Have you understood our idea? Find some information indirectly connected to your business, write some articles and place the information on your web site. Do you sell beauty supplies? Give your visitors some tips how to use them in the best way. You are the expert in your field. So, share your knowledge with your visitors. Explain to them which palette of cosmetics fits brunettes, and which tones are good for blondes. Teach your visitors how to determine their skin type. This information seems to you as being well-known, but it is your mistake. Many people won't know it. So, they need not only your product, but your advice.
Do you sell cartridges? Explain to people how to take care of their printers to avoid cartridge leaking. Do you think everybody knows about it? Hah! Recently we have bought a used, but still expensive printer on ebay and received it all flooded by ink. The seller didn't know that they were supposed to take the cartridges out when they ship printers.
Do you own a dating web site? Then you have an unlimited amount of topics to discuss human relationships. In other words, seek and you will find. And visitors will find your web site easier in search engines.
In our next newsletter we will tell about how to get more benefits from your articles.
