U.S. Army Top Fuel driver Tony Schumacher will be featured at 8 p.m. ET, Monday February 7 on the Discovery Health Channel program Impact: Stories of Survival. Schumacher, who is preparing to open defense of his 2004 NHRA POWERade Top Fuel world championship next weekend at Pomona Raceway, will be an integral part of a 15-minute segment that chronicles his comeback from a horrific crash at the Memphis race in 2000. "I’m anxious to see the piece myself," he said. "The producers spoke with a bunch of people who attended to me at the time of the crash right up through my rehabilitation process." Schumacher sustained numerous injuries in the 300-mph crash at Memphis Motorsports Park, but only missed two races before advancing to the final round in the season finale at Pomona.
