Getting Started
The first time you use your GCI Voice Mail, just follow the tutorial voice prompts which will take you through the steps to set up your new mailbox.

- Dial the GCI Voice Mail System at 523-0068.
(The phone number you dial depends on which one was given to you by your GCI customer service representative).
- Press # when the system greeting begins.
- Enter your mailbox number.
- If you have voice mail attached to your home phone, your mailbox number will be your 7-digit home phone number.
- If you have a stand alone voice mailbox, your mailbox number was given to you at the time you signed up for GCI Voice Mail.
- Enter your temporary password (last 5 digits of phone number) given to you by your GCI customer service representative.
- Follow the voice prompts to:
- Create your new personal password (may be 4 to 15 digits).
- Record your name and personal greeting.
Accessing Your Mailbox
There are two ways to access your mailbox.
If calling from your own phone:
- Dial the GCI Voice Mail System (523-0068)
Or use dialing short cuts: Dial *98 (instead of dialing 868-0068) Dial *99 (instead of dialing 562-1122)
- Listen for your recorded name.
- Enter your password.
If calling from another phone:
- Dial the GCI Voice Mail System at 523-0068.
- Press # when the system greeting begins.
- Enter your mailbox number.
- Enter your password.

To access your stand alone mailbox:
- Dial the GCI Voice Mail System (523-0068).
- Press # when the system greeting begins.
- Enter your mailbox number.
- Press 9 during your greeting.
- Enter your password.
Reviewing Your Messages
To review your messages, press the following numbers in sequence:
- Unheard voice messages, press 1 1
- Fax messages, press 1 3

After Message Review
Your mailbox can receive and store a maximum number of messages. When your mailbox is full, you will no longer receive messages, so you should routinely erase unneeded messages.

Sending Your Messages
Exchange messages with other GCI Voice Mail subscribers without actually placing a phone call to a person.
To send messages:
- From Main Menu, press 2
- End recording #
- Enter mailbox number
- To send, press #

Out-Call Notification
Have your GCI Voice Mail call you at any local (or toll-free) cellular, pager*, or regular phone number when you have new messages, based on a schedule you set.
* Phone GCI Customer Service for help programming your pager number.
From the Personal Options Menu:
- Turn Out-call Notification feature "on."
- Set up Out-call Notification schedule:
- Designate number at which you wish to be notified (must be a local or toll-free 800/888 number).
- Establish notification schedule.
- Indicate type of messages you would like to be notified about.
- Set how soon to call you after message arrives.
