As part of its mission to improve dive safety, DAN collects and reports on diving fatalities and injuries. To this end, DAN SEAP is trying to collect information of dive accidents in the Asia-Pacific Region. It is important that divers assist us in this pursuit by notifying us of any serious dive accident that they become aware of in this Region. If you hear of a dive accident, we would be grateful if you would complete a brief report form and send it to us. There are many more "incidents" than there are accidents and we can learn much from these. For example, a BC power inflator may malfunction and cause the diver to ascend prematurely. This may not cause harm but it is important to know when it occurs so that possible faults and / or trends can be identified.
