Were Michael Moore and Mel Gibson snubbed this year? That was the rumor after the Academy Awards nominations were announced, although not everyone agrees. But Oscar does have a history of turning its nose up at even the most obvious candidates for the coveted honor. It took Al Pacino eight nominations before he finally took home the statuette, while Alfred Hitchcock never received the award. Who else has been snubbed by the Academy?

Sadly, evidence suggests that the majority of guests on the "Jerry Springer Show" are indeed real. However, actors have appeared in various guises in attempts to get publicity. According to About.com and several investigative TV specials, the aspiring thespians claimed some of the show's producers were complicit in the fraud. Say it ain't so!
