Mini guide to Vitoria Airport
Vitoria Airport is located approximately eight kilometres northeast of the capital of Álava near the municipal district of Foronda. The airport provides convenient access to the Spanish Basque region and the Pyrenees.
A single-level terminal building caters for all domestic and international flights. There is an ATM machine and a bank located in the terminal building. The airport has a restaurant, and two travel agents and three tour operators have outlets in the airport to aid with any further travel plans.
Limited conference facilities are available at the airport’s Sala VIP Lounge, and must be booked in advance. Contact airport information for further information on business facilities (tel: +34(0) 945 163 591). There is only the one VIP lounge, equipped with standard telecommunication facilities.
Those who require special assistance or wheelchairs should notify their airlines when booking their flight. Specially fitted toilets and ramps are located across the airport. Designated parking areas are available in the car park opposite the terminal. An airport information desk is centrally located in the terminal building.
Vitoria Airport is easily accessed by both private and public transportation. The only road giving access to Vitoria Airport is the N-624. This road branches off the N-622, which links Vitoria with Bilbao and connects with the A-68 near Murgia. It is also possible to access the N-624 by the Vitoria-North route, N-I Madrid-Irun, which reduces the journey for passengers driving up from the south as they do not need to cross the city. Taxis are available from outside the terminal building and run to central Vitoria and other nearby locations.
There is one large car park located directly opposite the terminal building which provides free short-term and long-term parking. There is a pick-up and drop-off area right outside the terminal entrance, and assistance is available for the mobility impaired.
