Getting to Mallorca
You’re options are simple when traveling to Mallorca. Being a tourist island, most its visitors arrive at Son Sant Joan International Airport (8km from Palma). From here buses run into Palma regularly, most resorts around the island also run their own shuttles. There are direct flights from many major European cities. A flight via the Spanish mainland will cost you more, but there are cheap flights to Barcelona and Valencia, especially in the low season. Most of Mallorca’s visitors arrive on package deals.
Ferries run daily to and from Barcelona and Valencia, arriving in Palma. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the ports. A departure tax applies when flying out of Spain, but this is usually included in the price of air tickets.
